What is Imagination? The ability to form mental images of things that are not present to the senses or not considered to be real. The formation of such images. One of these mental images.
“Imagination will get you everywhere”- a quote from Albert Einstein, with 100% accuracy.
Imagination is my eleventh virtue. Quite an inspiring virtue at this time.
In reality, we all imagine all the time. The question is what are we imagining? Is it negative, like worrying about illness, indebtedness, unemployment, unfavorable work conditions, family issues, etc. or positive such as imagining a healthy lifestyle, a career that you love, receiving your desired incomes/earnings/receivings, or a future that includes your desires, goals, and dreams?
In my travels during the week, I’ve seen (and can imagine) both efforts of the general public, family, friends, coworkers, and colleagues. My coworkers, now former coworkers, are imagining their new positions and their new daily habits. My colleagues are imagining, through their networking, building relationships and customers/clients. My friends are imagining getting together and going out for a beer and food. On my part, it’s been mostly positive. My main concern is imagining what my newly full time j.o.b. will be like as a solo merchandise resetter and dedicated to only 2 stores, as opposed to working part time in a team setting and travelling to 12 stores per cycle. Today, ended that part time relationship. Tuesday, at orientation, will answer some of my imagining questions and once I start working the expectations will answer the rest. My positive imaginations include working with my clients on a consistent basis and adding more clients to work with, and imagining their better health and well-being. They also include the dance competitions that I’ll be working at over the next few weeks and months and possible new events in the near future. I’m imaging my future short term and long term goals and dreams, including helping 1,111,111+ people globally. During March Madness, I am imagining both the men’s and lady’s UCONN teams winning the National titles (Go Huskies), although, either win or lose, it doesn’t affect my daily goings on nor future plans to succeed. I’m imagining our weather in the months to come, since our winter was unwinterlike in the Northeast- will we have a springy Spring, a cold snap and snowy Spring, or a warm to heatwave Spring? I imagine how yummy and tasty the meals are that I make for dinner, even for a restrictive Keto plan. I imagine our wine tasting excursions. I have imaginations of continuing my MKE habits, well, most of them and keeping in touch with our tribe after our commencement in a few weeks.
Enough about me. What incidences of imagination have you seen or have been aware of from others this week? Yourself? both positive and negative? Let your imagination run wild and capture as many as you can.
Let’s all imagine what next week’s virtue will be…
