Over the last few months, I’ve grown more spiritually, learning and using concepts to better myself, others, and the world we live in.
This next series, we will delve into practices that I’ve been doing for years and ones that are fairly new for me. I look forward to sharing them with you.
The Subconscious Mind and the Power of I AM Statements
The subconscious mind is the part of our mind that operates below the level of conscious awareness. It is responsible for storing and processing all the information that we receive from our senses, as well as our memories, emotions, beliefs, habits, and instincts.
The subconscious mind influences our thoughts, feelings, actions, and reactions, often without us being aware of it.
One of the most powerful ways to communicate with our subconscious mind is through the use of I AM statements. These are affirmations that begin with the words “I AM” and describe a positive quality or state of being that we want to embody or experience. For example, “I AM confident”, “I AM healthy”, “I AM successful”, etc.
Why are I AM statements so effective? Because they directly address our subconscious mind and tell it what we want to be true about ourselves and our reality. When we repeat these statements regularly and with conviction, we are programming our subconscious mind to accept them as facts and to align our behavior and circumstances accordingly.
However, not all I AM statements are created equal. Some are more powerful than others, depending on how they are formulated and delivered. Here are some tips to make your I AM statements more potent and impactful:
• Use present tense. Avoid using words like “will”, “can”, or “going to”, which imply that your desired state is in the future and not in the now. Instead, use words like “am”, “have”, or “do”, which indicate that your desired state is already true in the present moment.
• Use positive words. Avoid using words like “not”, “no”, or “never”, which negate your statement and create resistance in your subconscious mind. Instead, use words that affirm what you want and not what you don’t want. For example, instead of saying “I AM not afraid”, say “I AM courageous”.
• Use specific words. Avoid using vague or general words that do not clearly define what you want or how you want to feel. Instead, use words that describe exactly what you want or how you want to feel in detail. For example, instead of saying “I AM happy”, say “I AM joyful and grateful”.
• Use emotional words. Avoid using words that are bland or neutral, which do not evoke any emotion in your subconscious mind. Instead, use words that trigger positive emotions in your subconscious mind, such as love, joy, peace, abundance, etc.
• Use personal words. Avoid using words that refer to other people or external factors, which imply that your desired state depends on something outside of yourself. Instead, use words that refer to yourself and your own power, such as “I”, “me”, “my”, etc.
Here are some examples of powerful I AM statements that follow these guidelines:
• I AM confident and capable in everything I do.
• I have abundant health and vitality.
• I AM successful and prosperous in my career.
• I AM joyful and grateful for all the opportunities in my life.
• I love and accept myself unconditionally.
To make your I AM statements even more effective, you can also add some elements that enhance their impact on your subconscious mind:
• Visualize your statement as if it is already true. Imagine how you would look, feel, act, and sound if your statement was already true. Use all your senses to create a vivid mental picture of your desired state.
• Repeat your statement aloud or silently with conviction and enthusiasm. Say it with confidence and passion, as if you are declaring it to the world. The more you repeat it, the more you reinforce it in your subconscious mind.
• Write your statement down on a piece of paper or a card and carry it with you wherever you go. Read it several times a day, especially in the morning when you wake up and at night before you go to sleep. You can also place it somewhere where you can see it often, such as on your mirror, fridge, desk, etc.
• Listen to your statement recorded on an audio device or a phone app. You can record yourself saying your statement or use a voice synthesizer app to create an audio file of your statement. Listen to it whenever you have some free time or while you are doing other activities, such as driving, working out, meditating, etc.
By using these techniques consistently and persistently, you will be able to program your subconscious mind with positive and empowering I AM statements that will transform your life for the better.
