December is a very busy month: work-year end push for sales, end of the month/year billing and receiving, working extra hours for those taking days off; the holidays- planning, hosting, cooking/baking, gift buying… this can be a more stressful month than any other and also a month to be most thankful and grateful.

Most importantly, it is a month for goal checking, evaluating, and setting for both your short term and long term goals for personal, financial, and work/career. January is well known for making resolutions such as stop smoking, stop drinking, losing weight, working out, etc. Unfortunately, resolutions are known for being broken by month 2 or 3. I feel that this is so because it is usually a cold turkey set up or plan without careful planning. Differentiating from goal setting- setting goals for certain time periods and planning steps and working to reach those goals. Sure, quite often goals aren’t met for reasons of lack of confidence, goal too difficult to reach for set time period, losing interest, etc. On the other hand, goals are often manifested due to confidence, working hard/smart, keeping the goal(s) in their vision, etc.

My favorite goal setting tools are Ti Caine’s Master Dream List, Strategic Attraction Planning, Vision Boards, and Magical Creation Boxes.
• Ti Caine’s Master Dream List consists of setting goals for every facet of one’s life- using your imagination and setting fun goals, Emotional Dream List, Relationship & Family Dream List, Career & Financial Dream List, Social Dream List, Physical Dream List, Mental Dream List, and Spiritual Dream List. This can take up to a few weeks to a month to “complete”. The reason why I put quotes around complete, is because goals are manifested and new goals are made or goals are changed for a number of reasons. Changes are more than likely a good thing.
• Strategic Attraction Plans are mainly designed and made for attracting perfect relationships, whether for business or personal. For business, it can be to increase the number of perfect customers or clients, perfect employees, perfect vendors, perfect partners, etc. For personal, for attracting your perfect love/soul mate, friends, colleagues, etc. It is based on The Law Of Attraction (and the Law Of Attraction never fails).
• Vision Boards are creative and fun to make and can be placed where you can see them on a daily basis, even several times a day, keeping your goals in in your line of vision. Cutting out pictures or words of your goals and dreams from magazines or making drawings and pinning them to a board. This is a great way to use both sides of your brain. I prefer using pins (as opposed to glue) for the same reasons of manifesting/reaching the goals or changing them.
• Magical Creation Boxes are similar to Vision Boards, instead of using a board, you design and make, or find a box that has meaning to you. Using print materials- pictures, words, art, etc. and place in the box. The box would also be in plain sight and looked through in a consistent manner to keep your goals in mind. This also allows for changes.
What is important about goal making is celebrating your wins, your manifestations, even each step to reaching your goals. This keeps you motivated to carry on, make new goals and perhaps more aggressive, and best of all- you deserve it.

What is also important is doing a quick year in review. Why do this? Not to find all of the failure or goals not reached and lose confidence, get down on yourself, nor lose the motivation. Although finding these are great for re-evaluating your goals, understanding why they weren’t reached, allowing to make positive changes in yourself, and to find a path for motivation. Make the necessary changes and add these “new” goals to your new list. Do this to remember the goals that you did reach and celebrate them, again. Use these for continued motivation. Do this to expand on goals reached and make more aggressive goals. Don’t spend too much time in the past, concentrate more on a successful future.

Now, it’s time for me to spend the next few weeks to use my favorite goal setting methods and strive towards a successful 2016 and beyond. See you next year.
